Menal Water Fall :
30 Km from Lake Palace Nahargarh,
on the Chittaurgarh Bundi road there is a complex of beautiful
temples dating back to the Gupta period. The palace is said to
be the Mountain retreat of the legendary Rajput Prithviraj Chauhan.
On the bank of river are ruins of a 12th century palace.
Menal river runs over a bed of granite slabs and plunges into
a cavernous over 122 meter deep gorge. The waterfall thus formed
particularly in monsoon attracts a lot of people from nearby towns
as well as forigen tourists.
The old temple complex has an imposing
Shiva temple (Naleshwar Mahadev ) entered through a gateway carved
with images of Bhairava and Ganesha. On the walls are carving
of Lord Shiva and Parvati is various forms, as well as of animals,
dancers and musicians.
